Located just west of state Route 111, the Demuth Park neighborhood in Palm Springs is about 3 miles northwest of Downtown Palm Springs. Palm Springs International Airport lies to the north. Originating after World War II as the "Veteran’s Tract," it offered affordable midcentury modern housing for returning military personnel. Later named Demuth Park in honor of Adolf Demuth, a local benefactor who donated funds for the construction of Palm Springs' largest park, the neighborhood has a rich history tied to its development and community contributions.
